Introductory Post

This blog seeks to cover the overlap of the social and natural sciences in the study of human thought and behavior. The title of the blog relates to what is referred to in economics as unexplainable by a given model of behavior. This overlap of the explained and unexplainable is what drives my thoughts and subsequent research. My hope (besides being a relatively efficient way to record my thoughts) is to foster discussion on a variety of topics that cross a number of disciplines.  As for me, I am a trained psychiatrist and economist, with all of the subsequent (though rarely overlapping) biases
